Rocketry27 – Competition Team – Engineer

WHAT DO WE DO?
The competition team at ARIS has the goal to advance the association’s knowledge in building and operating sounding rockets by launching one each year at the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC). In this team, you’ll learn all the basics of rocketry as you go through the industry standard design process as done at NASA. You’ll plan and conduct tests of individual components, integrate them into the system and train procedures to finally be ready for launch day.
You will contribute to and iterate on the bi-liquid sounding rocket that is currently in development, and will launch for the first time in October at EuRoC’26.
YOUR TASKS:
Your tasks will depend on which position you apply and are selected for. The positions range from:
- Recovery Engineer – Responsible for parachute deployment and guided
- Structures Engineer – Responsible for the airframe structure design and manufacturing
- Avionics Engineer – Responsible for the electronics hardware design and manufacturing, as well as firmware implementation
- Flight Dynamics and Simulations Engineer – Responsible for simulations and optimizations
- Engine Engineer – Responsible for engine design and validation
- Propellant Supply System Engineer – Responsible for delivering liquid oxygen and ethanol to the engine
- Software Engineer - Responsible for all software systems integrated within the Rocket platform, spanning three main areas: flight computer, mission control and data pipeline.
